The logo depicts the Pointe-Claire Communal mill, one of the oldest colonial constructions on the shores of the Island of Montreal. Plans for the mill began in 1708 and construction began in 1709. A more detailed history of the mill can be found at http://pointeclaire.ville.montreal.qc.ca

The task of the public security division included the enforcement of municipal by-laws, animal control, neighbourhood watch and assistance to citizens. The division still exists but is now called "The public security division of the city of Montreal's Borough of Pointe-Claire" ...(whew! a very long title)
